Under 2 months to go

PDA has flown past so quickly its so scary!! 6 weeks or so and It'll be all done, all over (giving that I pass the course!)

We recently held an photography auction to raise money to help us with our end of year exhibition and we were very lucky to be given pieces of work from the likes of David Eustace, Colin Gray, Colin Prior and Angela Catlin! We raised £4200!! An unbelievable amount and we had no idea we could raise that much!

Our end of year exhibition is going to be held at The Lighthouse in Glasgow City Centre at the end of May.............

New Year, more work....

Ok so its February, been meaning to update this for ages :s but in all honesty i havent taken many photos anyway.....

Tons of projects are getting underway..... Projection, Editorial, Fashion, Advertising, High Speed, Long Exposure....... and an essay of the ethics of photo manipulation.

Had some playing about with a projector last week and seeing what effects can be done with different backgrounds and how light falls on a model infront of projector

heres what i got up to with it....

Happiness

Our latest brief required us to come up with a portrait that depicts happiness - completely open to interpretation. I immediatly thought of my friend Noah whom Ive known for about 10 years or so. He is the happiest person in the world and can always guarantee to put a smile on your face so he was happy to oblige and pose for a wee photo for me

i think the final image really says it all.

also this was taken on the Hasselblad our college has and it was so much fun but scary handling such an expensive piece of kit!!

Deconstruction.....

This weeks project wasn't a 'take a photo project' but merely 'destroy a photo project'. To experiment with finishes for our images and that they dont need to be perfect prints from a professional lab but to make our work unique we can put our own stamp.

these are scanned but you'll get the idea hopefully!!

One i spilled bleach over and let it run then the other has been soaked, folded and then scratched with a scourer.

Drama

Next college project involves creating an image with tension or drama. My initial idea was a shot of two elastic bands pulling away from each other.... and although I did like my final shot I just wasn't satisfied with it. My trusty close has came in handy for a few shoots in the past and I created my image with a wide angle lens shot from a low angle and voila drama was created....

Modelling Commission

I was commissioned by a local model, Gillian Murphy, to help update her modelling and beauty paegent portfolio. The local park is a great location and we took these shots in the woodland part which is off the track next to the fossil grove. Much fun was had although a slightly cold day. Poor Gillian wore little clothing in some of it!

Get in Focus.......

Project is completely the opposite this time - defocus the camera to create a few images which focus on colour or shape.
